| For Maarten and Frances Steenman, 
                            the story of La Tulipe Desserts is made of sweet dreams. 
                            The husband and wife team met twenty-one years ago 
                            while employed at a small bakery in Mount Kisco, New 
                            York. The duo has always shared a similar philosophy: 
                            to use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients 
                            and finish each dessert with a simple yet stunning 
                            design. They envisioned opening their own patisserie. 
                            The Dutch-born Maarten is a second-generation pastry 
                            chef with extensive experience as an apprentice at 
                            the finest patisseries in Europe (Holland, France, 
                            Belgium and Norway, to be precise). Frances has an 
                            amazing eye for color, design and style. With their 
                            combined talents and commitment to exceptional desserts 
                            that "look as good as they taste," Maarten 
                            and Frances committed themselves to offering products 
                            not commonly seen on bakery shelves in the New York 
                            tri-state area. Since 1999, La Tulipe Desserts continues 
                            the realization of a life-long passion for exquisite 
                            desserts. Maarten and Frances reside with their two children, 
                            Lydia and Luke, in Bedford Hills, New York.
